01 | What is a CFD?
 

A CFD, or Contract for Difference, is a versatile investment tool that empowers traders to execute leveraged trades over both short and long periods. It provides access to a diverse range of instruments, making it a flexible and accessible trading option. CFDs are centered on tracking price changes in various commodity and equity markets, and they offer advantages like leverage and immediate execution. This means you can speculate on the price movements of stocks without actually owning them.

02 | What is Spread?
 

The Spread refers to the variance between the Bid price and the Ask price, and it is applied when you initiate a trade. For instance, if the quote for the EUR/USD currency pair displays 1.2910 against 1.2911, the Spread would be 1 pip.

03 | Could you explain the Required Margin and Used Margin?
 

Certainly. Required Margin represents the amount necessary to open a trading position and can be computed using the following formula: (volume x current price) / leverage + (volume x spread) = total required margin
For example, if you purchase 10 barrels of oil at $51.30, the calculation for Required Margin would be: (10 * 51.30) / 100 + (10 * 0.03) = $5.43 USD
Used Margin, on the other hand, is the total margin currently employed for your active positions. This is determined by summing up the initial margins of all your open positions.

04 | What is a Pip?
 

A Pip, or Price Interest Point, is the smallest possible price movement for a given exchange rate.

05 | How to calculate Pip value?
 

The Pip Value can be either variable or fixed, depending on two key factors:
1. The currency pair being traded, such as EUR/USD.
2. The base currency, for example, EUR in the EUR/USD currency pair, is the measuring currency.
The Pip Value also depends on the volume of the trade. The simplest formula for calculating Pip Value is: (1 pip/exchange rate) * quantity = pip value
This provides the Pip Value in the quoted currency. If your account's base currency differs from the quoted currency, simply multiply the quoted currency by the relevant exchange rate.

06 | What is the leverage on your platform?
 

The maximum leverage for Retail clients is 1:200.

07 | Can you clarify what a Margin Call is?
 

Certainly. A Margin Call is triggered when the total percentage of your ongoing trades, known as the Margin Level, falls to 100% or below. To prevent you from incurring larger losses, the system may start closing your trades, beginning with the one generating the highest loss. You can increase your margin by making additional investments or reducing your exposure through open positions.

In most instances, the account verification process is dependent on the quality of the documents submitted and can be completed within approximately 48 hours, but can require additional time based on KYC requirements.

08 | Does the Company charge any inactivity fees?
 

No, Tattvam Markets does not impose any inactivity fees. However, if your account remains inactive for a period exceeding 6 months, you will be required to undergo a RE-KYC process to reactivate your existing account.

09 | How can I switch between Real and Demo mode on my account?
 

Switching between account modes is a simple process. Double-click on your desired account in the server list available in your navigator and select either 'Switch to Demo' or 'Switch to Real.' If you are using the mobile app, click on the three-lined menu at the top left corner of your screen and choose the 'Switch to Demo' or 'Switch to Real' option.

03 | How can I download the platform(s)?
 

To download the platform, visit the Tattvam Markets homepage, where you'll find an MT5 icon located at the bottom left side. Simply click on the icon and scroll down to access the download links for the MT5 platform.

04 | What happens to my open positions at the end of the trading day?
 

For positions that are held open overnight past 5 p.m. EST, a swap is calculated. If you maintain your spot position open on Wednesdays, the swap is charged three times. For Cryptos, swaps are charged at a triple rate on Fridays. There is no swap charge if you keep your CFD future position open overnight.

05 | Do you offer Swap-free accounts?
 

Tattvam Markets does not provide swap-free accounts.

06 | Can I trade on the weekend?
 

The trading platform is closed during the weekend.

07 | How can I change my Tattvam Capital Markets Ltd account password?
 

To change your Tattvam Markets account password, navigate to the 'My Profile' section within your account. Click on 'Password,' enter your existing Tattvam Markets account password, and then input the new password twice. Afterward, click 'Save.' Please note that this will change the password for your Tattvam Markets account only, and not for your MT4 or MT5 trading accounts. We recommend changing your password regularly for enhanced account security.

08 | How can I change the MT5 password?
 

Once you're logged into the MT5 platform, proceed to 'Tools' > 'Options.' Then select the 'Server' tab and choose 'Change Password.' Enter the new password you'd like to use and confirm the change.

09 | What does Overnight Swap (Swap Fee) mean, and how do I calculate it?
 

The Overnight Swap, or Swap Fee, involves rolling forward the settlement of a deal to another value date. A charge is applied based on the difference in interest rates between the two currencies involved. At 21:00 GMT each day, open positions are rolled over to the next day, with interest gains or losses determined by the interest rate differential between the bought and sold currencies.
The Swap is tripled on Wednesdays for FX pairs and tripled on Fridays for all other assets to account for the upcoming weekend. To calculate applied Swaps, use this formula: (Overnight Swap (Swap Fee) %) x (Last mid-price at 21:00 GMT) x (Quantity) x (number of days held open). You can find the Overnight Swap (Swap Fee) % in each instrument's Information box.

10 | Is there a CFD Rollover on your platform?
 

Certain CFDs on our platform have specific Rollover dates, requiring customers to move their positions from the expiring symbol to the new symbol. Tracking Rollover is made easy through the information posted on our website regarding expiration dates and weekly expiration dates.

11 | How can I change my leverage?
 

For leverage adjustments, please contact our Customer Service Team at backoffice@tattvammarkets.com. The team will review your transaction history, and if you meet the eligibility criteria for a new leverage level, our customer service team will apply the requested change to your account.
